Stickies-Can't see typing

First appearance a few months ago in v8; updated today but still in v9.  As I type on a new Stickie I can't see it.  But, I can highlight the area of my typing and see what was typed. 
I'm not finding a solution in Options or anywhere in the forum.

The only time I've ever experienced the same thing, I was typing in a stickie with a white background with a white font color. The print did not show up of course, but I was able to highlight the text. 

Check that your font color is not identical or nearly identical to the background color of your stickie. That is my only idea.

Thanks, XERO, that's exactly what it was-a font color change.  Since setting up Stickies years ago I hadn't gone into Options at all, so didn't occur to me a setting would have changed.
