OneNote copy text becomes picture in Stickies
Wed Mar 04, 2020 7:50 am
I copied text from OneNote (ver 2016) and paste into stickies note, it becomes picture/image. Not editable.
Any work around? Otherwise has to paste to Notepad then copy from notepad to stickies.

From the helpfile : Paste text from clipboard with no formatting shift + ctrl + v
Do not know if it solves your problem but is easy to try it out .
p.s. Same ( shift + ctrl ) works for copying with no format in stickies ,maybe you can try it when copying for OneNote .

If "it becomes picture/image" as you mention, the most likely is that this "behaviour" doesn't come from the "target" (ie. Stickies when you pasted it), but rather from the "source" : When you copied it in OneNote, you probably copied it "as an image", and not "as text".
BTW, if you copy (using the same way than in your "unsucessful test") in OneNote, are you able to paste the text in a pure text target, eg. in Notepad ?
And what happens if you paste the same in a pure graphic target, eg in PhotoShop or equivalent ?
Other question, what do you mean when you write : "and paste into stickies note" ? Paste into an existing text note, or "Create a new note from clipboard" ?

The clipboard can contain multiple formats of the same content at once. Holding shift will help with what you mention - as might putting a space (or any other content) into a note before pasting into it. Stickies will prioritise image over text in a completely empty note, and text over image when the note has some content.
